New Human Performance and Nutrition Research Institute sets sights on improving Oklahoma health
Oklahoma faces significant health challenges. That’s not news to many, but the numbers highlight the enormity of the challenge. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data from 2020, Oklahoma has the second highest death rate from heart disease in the country — only Mississippi fared slightly worse. Oklahoma also posted the second highest death rate from lower respiratory disease mortality, the fourth highest death rate from cancer and the fifth highest death rate related to diabetes. Read More
CEAT landmark undergoes renovation, welcomes Zink Center for Competitive Innovation
A historic building in Oklahoma State University’s College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology has received a much-needed upgrade. OSU unveiled a revitalized Engineering South this fall and celebrated the launch of the new Zink Center for Competitive Innovation housed within. The building, which originally opened in 1939, had been under construction since June 2021. Read More
Critical Care: New on-campus BSN degree will aid state’s health care industry
A much needed and highly sought after degree program is finally coming to Stillwater. Oklahoma State University’s work to prepare health care professionals and enhance the health of Oklahoma took another step forward with the university welcoming its first class of nursing students to campus this fall. The new Bachelor of Science in Nursing on the flagship campus will help meet Oklahoma’s ongoing and critical shortage of nurses. Read More
A Record-Setting Give Orange
On April 4-5, Give Orange 2023 included a record 2,383 donors and raised $1,200,941 thanks to a significant increase in campaign ambassadors and the generosity of the Oklahoma State University Foundation Board of Governors. Read More
New deans for OSU Agriculture, Business speak on their vision for the future
Dr. Jayson L. Lusk has returned to the Cowboy family as Oklahoma State University’s vice president and dean of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Read More
2023 Women for OSU Symposium recognizes leaders in philanthropy
With more than 640 in attendance, the 2023 Women for OSU Symposium’s recordbreaking crowd celebrated the power of women in philanthropy and another significant milestone — the program’s 15th anniversary. Read More
Animal Kingdom: OSU College of Veterinary Medicine celebrates 75 years of serving the state
In Oklahoma, veterinary medicine research starts in Stillwater. If a practice is hiring a veterinarian from an in-state university, they are coming from Stillwater. When an animal — large or small — gets sick and needs help using the newest advances in medicine, they come to Stillwater. Read More
Pawsitive Impact: OSU celebrates a decade of dogs with Pete's Pet Posse
Between the demands of school, work and keeping up with friends, it feels like the weight of the world is crashing down on you. During a slight break in your busy schedule, you take a second to sit on the nearest bench and decompress when you’re greeted by a dog excited to spend a few minutes with you. Immediately, pressure is lifted and getting through your day seems much easier than it did before you sat down. Read More
